Black hat SEO refers to actions that lead in the end to Google Penalty.
In other words, Black Hat SEO is tactics that are used to break the search engine ranking guidelines so the website can rank faster.
As we mentioned before, Black Hat tactic can lead to Google Penalty, whether by algorithms or manually, which means:
- Your website will be down in ranking,
- Your website might be removed from the SERP.
- Leads to poor user experience.
- It won’t drive long-term results.
Here are some examples of Black SEO tactics to avoid:
- Keyword stuffing.
- Duplicate content.
- Cloaking.
- Misleading Redirects.
White Hat SEO
The opposite of Black Hat SEO is White Hat SEO, and you can easily guess what that means.
White Hat SEO refers to following the guidelines of ranking that has been set by Google.
White Hat SEO includes the following actions according to SEMrush:
- High-Quality unique content.
- Mobile-friendly Version of your website.
- Optimizing content to fit users’ search intent.
Grey Hat SEO
To get the color grey, we mix black and white, and that is what we also do in SEO.
They are tactics that are used by some agencies to reach quick results, and they are not prohibited like the Black hat SEO.
Here are some examples:
- Clickbait content, which encourages users to read the article, but it has no real value.
- Paid reviews.
- Exchanging links between websites.
